Good news for Evanescence’s fans. The rock band will begin a North American tour on October 5th, a tour which will kick off in Toronto. After a music break three years ago, the rock band, Evanescence, comes back with a new great album called ‘The Open Door’ which is set to be released on 3rd of October. The tour includes a performance at the MTV Latin Video Music Awards in Mexico City on October 19. The rock group, Evanescence, has said the new album it’s about introspection, longing, doubt, self-respect, and ultimately, empowerment and anticipation.

The rock album has as a first single, ‘Call Me When You’re Sober’ which debuts this week at No. 21 on Billboard’s Modern Rock chart and which already has a video directed by Marc Webb and began airing on MTV this week. I belive that this is a great rock album. Evanescence got us used to ‘brave, aggressive and dark’ songs and with successful albums. ‘Fallen’, the first record of the rock band sold about 6.5 million units in the US and the second album ‘Anywhere But Home’, the rock group has sold about 15 million records worldwide.

After finding out that the pop-latin singer Shakira continues to maintain number one spot on Ireland singles chart for a seventh week and returned on number one on UK music chart it’s time to find out that the pop-latin celebrity also leads the MTV’s Video Music Awards nominations alongside with the rock band Red Hot Chilli Peppers with seven nominations each. They will compete with Christina Aguilera (Ain’t no other man), Madonna (Hung up) and Panic! At The Disco (I write sins not tragedies) for the Video of the Year category.

Shakira will be also competing with Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson at Best female video category. The pop latin celebrity, Shakira, is also nominated for Best Pop Video (along with Christina Aguilera) and Best Dance Video. At the Best Male Video category the nominations are Nick Lachey (what’s Left of Me), James Blunt (You’re Beautiful), Kanye West (Gold Digger), T.I. (What You Know) and Busta Rhymes (Touch It, feat. Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliot).

The MTV’s Video Music Awards will take place on August 31 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. It seems like this ceremony will include performers like the R&B celebrity Beyonce Knowles, the pop singer Justin Timberlake, the rap artists T.I. and Ludacris, Panic! at the disco and The Killers.

The pop-rock celebrity, Kelly Clarkson, will be releasing her third album early in 2007. The pop-rock ‘Idol’ is currently busy with her ‘Addicted’ summer tour, until 4th of August when the pop/rock singer will be having her last concert of this summer tour at Sleep Train Amphitheatre near Marysville, but this didn’t stop the pop-rock artist, Kelly Clarkson, to begin the process of making her third album.

The pop-rock singer said that the new album will be a departure from her last two records, with more soulful smoothness and a rock ‘n’ roll edge. A throwback to Janis Joplin, Sly and some of the songs are a little Prince-ish but it will still have the whole rock-pop vibe. The pop-rock celebrity also focus on helping others. She will donate a part of her ‘Addicted’ ticket sales to Komen’s Race for the Cure initiative.

Green Day new punk-rock album

Green Day.jpg

The punk-rock band declared that they are now working for the releasing of a new rock album. This doesn’t mean that the rock trio stopped working for the ‘American Idiot’ movie. Going back to the new album of the rock band, the trio said that this will not be an usual album, not just putting a record out, this will be an event. The rock artists also said that they definitely want to make something that is well thought-out and for which all of their blood is put into.

For the punk-rock singers, everything that they do is completely, 100 percent passion and energy-driven, so it seems like the new album will be at least as successful as ‘American Idiot’. It’s really impressing what a great success Green Day had with ‘American Idiot’ album. Hopefully the history will repeat with the new rock album.
