Carrie Underwood rocks out at Rockerfeller Center

The American Idol winner Carrie Underwood keeps up with the good work, as the country singer spent Tuesday evening in the Big Apple rehearsal for an upcoming TV show, “Christmas at the Rockefeller Center.” The Rockefeller Center tree lighting will be aired live on November 28th on NBC from 7-9 p.m. The young singer took home recently a couple CMA Awards. The American Idol winner won the trophy for Single of the Year for “Before He Cheats” along with scooping up the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, at the Country Music Association Awards.

In other Celebrity news, besides her music talent Carrie Underwood is also being recognized for her style, as the country star shares the cover of the UsWeekly with Katie Holmes, Carrie being voted to have the “Sexiest New Style.”

The American Idol champ who once bragged about her jeans collection is now a consistent red carpet charmer in top designers like Escada and Mazria.

Carrie Underwood announces tour with Keith Urban

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood has announced that she’ll be touring with Nicole Kidman’s husband Keith Urban. Reports say that the tour is going to be called “Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Carnival Ride,” which is a conglomeration of the two artist’s album titles. The pair’s tour it’s scheduled to make twenty-four stops across North America. For fans of Carrie and Keith, tickets go on sale December 1st. In other music news, the young singer took home last week a couple CMA Awards. Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban Win at Country Music Association Awards

At this year 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards the American Idol winner Carrie Underwood won female vocalist of the year while the male vocalist prize went to Keith Urban, who had to drop out of the awards show after checking into rehab last month. Urban’s prize was accepted by Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn, who read a letter from the singer in which he thanked his friends, family and wife Nicole Kidman. Ronnie Dunn also along with partner Kix Brooks who co-hosted 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards, took home three awards - single, song and video of the year - for their song “Believe”.

Kenny Chesney won entertainer of the year while the show’s performers included Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert.

Dixie Chicks tops Billboard 200 chart

The Dixie Chicks country band is number one on Billboard 200 chart with their newest album ‘Taking the long way’ selling about 520,000 records in U.S. in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The country album was released on 23 May and it’s the third time when the country band grabbed number one on Billboard 200 chart. The country album of the band, Dixie Chicks, which had the best-selling week is trio’s sixth ‘Home’, a country album which debuted with 780,000.
