
The first Black Entertainment Television (BET) Hip-Hop Awards took place in Atlanta November 12, in T.I.’ hometown who took home three of the eight trophies he was nominated for at the ceremony: winning Best CD, Hip Hop Video and MVP of The Year. The first-ever BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony - which was hosted by funnyman Katt Williams being released on bail in November 10 - aired on November 15. Among the first-ever BET Hip-Hop Awards winners are also Sway who received the Best UK Act award and Jermaine Dupri - who opened the ceremony alongside Ludacris and Young Jeezy - taking home Best Producer while Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs paid tribute to R&B singer Gerald Levert and Ed Bradley. A partial list of winners of the first-ever BET Hip-Hop Awards:
