Rapper and Music producer Lil Jon will try to blend his is own energy drink Crunk’ style with Rock on his next album, which he is currently working hard at. We don’t know for sure if his idea will turn up to be a successful one, but one thing is certain, the album will be called Crunk Rock and he plans to collaborate with with Rick Rubin, Good Charlotte, KoRn’s Jonathan Davis and Green Day producer Rob Cavallo. Because the album is in the early stages, it does not have a release date yet. Lil’ Crunk Rock is expected to include both “Snap Ya Fingers” featuring E-40 & Sean Paul of Youngbloodz - which was co-written by Memphis songwriter/producer/rapper Al Kapone - and also the new single “Act A Fool” featuring Three 6 Mafia, which made the debut exclusively on Lil Jon’s MySpace site “Lil Jon World” yesterday on October 31st.
In other Music news, the rapper Lil Jon, who recently produced some of the tracks for Ciara`s upcoming album, is also working with Will.I.Am, Tyrese and Lil Scrappy for their own solo albums.
I’m doing some totally different shit than just a street record. I ain’t trying to save the world and I ain’t trying to reinvent the wheel. Im’a give people what they know and love me for - the Crunk shit and the nice club records for the ladies to dance to. But also on this record, I’ve got live bands, crazy heavy metal and rock guitars, so it’s a mixture.
- the producer told Billboard.com -
Yeaaah… I don’t know if that will work so well. Will rap fans want a rock record? Will rock fans want to listen to “crunk”? Seems somewhat unlikely. Probably would have worked better on the heels of him becomeing amusing, thanks to Dave Chappelle, but I’d imagine by 2007 [whenever it comes out] that will long have left our pop consciousness.
