Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban Win at Country Music Association Awards

At this year 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards the American Idol winner Carrie Underwood won female vocalist of the year while the male vocalist prize went to Keith Urban, who had to drop out of the awards show after checking into rehab last month. Urban’s prize was accepted by Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn, who read a letter from the singer in which he thanked his friends, family and wife Nicole Kidman. Ronnie Dunn also along with partner Kix Brooks who co-hosted 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards, took home three awards - single, song and video of the year - for their song “Believe”.

Kenny Chesney won entertainer of the year while the show’s performers included Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert.
