According to a source quoted in the New York Daily News newspaper, Janet Jackson’s lover Jermaine Dupri has blamed record bosses for the music icon’ album bad sales. The music producer is set to resign as president of Virgin Records’ urban division because he considers that Janet current label, having as chairman Jason Flom, has failed to promote Janet Jackson’s LP ‘20 Y.O.’ Jermaine is actually trying to persuade the R&B star Mariah Carey to record a duet with Janet on a track that would be added to a new version of the album. Sales of Janet album ‘20 Y.O.’ dropped by 74 per cent in the second week of its release. The album which was released through Virgin Records on 25 September 2006, marks 20 years since the release of her breakthrough seminal album, Control.
