Snoop Dogg & Dr Dre team up for the album The Blue Carpet Treatment

According to Billboard news, Rapper Snoop Dogg has teamed up with legendary Hip-Hop producer Dr Dre on his forthcoming album ‘The Blue Carpet Treatment’. It seems that it is the first collaboration between the pair for almost five years and the all-star album also includes celebrities like Timbaland, Stevie Wonder, The Game, R Kelly, Ice Cube and Ne-Yo.

The album ‘The Blue Carpet Treatment’- which will be the follow up to 2004”R&G - Rhythm and Gangster: The Masterpiece’ - is set for release on November 21 in the US while a UK release date has not yet been announced.

In other Celebrity news, the Hip-Hop star Snoop Dogg gets animated on DVD which features videos to accompany Snoop’s upcoming ‘Blue Carpet Treatment’ CD plus brand new songs with a story line. Cartoon Network and Adult Swim are currently in talks for the broadcast premiere, while the release of ‘Adventures’ will go on sale later this year.

R&B Celebrity Beyonce hits big at MOBO Awards

As it was expected the R&B Celebrity Beyonce Knowles hits big at the MOBO award ceremony last night - hosted by rapper Coolio - being named Best International Female and her single ‘Deja Vu’ won Best Song and Best Video while her Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z scooped Best International Male. Sadly at the ceremony - which recognises music of black origin the Celebrity couple Beyonce and Jay-Z were in London, but snubbed the event.

Corinne Bailey Rae - who flew back from her US tour to attend the ceremony ( which took place at the Royal Albert Hall ) took home awards for Best UK Female and Best UK Newcomer. Among other MOBO winners are Lemar, Black Eyed Peas while without having a record deal Ms Dynamite’s younger brother Akala surprisingly beat Hip-Hop heavyweights Buster Rhymes and Kanye West to win Best Hip-Hop.

Pop Celebrity Britney Spears to rap on her next album?

Who would’ve think of that? According to the news, Pop Celebrity Britney Spears is set to rap on her next album. Isn’t that a shock? Apparently Britney’ producer, J.R. Rotem, has revealed her hip-hop plans and says the celebrity mum’ fifth LP is going to be “crazy” and will take the singer to “the next level”. What level is that? Britney Spears rapping? What is she trying to do, follow or support her husband? If she tries to reach another level, I’ve got a feeling this is not the way. I mean what Britney is trying to innovate? Yes indeed, the producer did a great job with Destiny’s Child and 50 Cent, but rapping for Britney will most likely ruin her imagine. Life is a challenge, I agree. (more…)

The Pop Celebrity Justin Timberlake to host MTV Europe Awards

According to the news, Pop Celebrity Justin Timberlake will host MTV Europe Awards in Copenhagen, Denmark, on November 2 and will be aired on MTV live. Justin will not only host the event but he will also perform live being nominated for two awards this year - Best Male and Best Pop Act. That being said, The Chili Peppers are nominated for Best Group, Best Rock Act, Best Album, for “Stadium Arcadium” and Best Song, for “Dani California” and Madonna is nominated for Best Female, Best Pop Act and Best Album, for her worldwide hit “Confessions on a Dancefloor.”
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nelly Furtado and British band Muse will perform at this year MTV Europe Awards.

R&B Celebrity Mariah Carey rules American Music Award Nominations

According to the reports, celebrities like Mariah Carey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Eyed Peas and Nickelback lead the nominations, with three prizes each are, for this year’s American Music Awards. A nine-time AMA winner, R&B Celebrity Mariah Carey is nominated for Favorite Female Artist in the Pop/Rock and Soul/Rhythm & Blues categories as well as Favorite Album in the Soul/Rhythm & Blues category for The Emancipation of Mimi.

With two nominations each are following celebrities: Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, the Pussycat Dolls and Kelly Clarkson. Nominations were announced Tuesday (Sept. 19) by actress Carmen Electra and singer/actor Tyrese. Around 20,000 music fans will pick the winners for this year’s American Music Awards ceremony which will be broadcast Nov. 21, live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
