Rapper Twista Planning Album - Adrenaline Rush 2010

According to AllHipHop.com news, rapper Twista plans his fifth album Adrenaline Rush 2010, which is due in stores on June 20. The label decided that Twista, who also plans to have an acting career, should have an album thanks to a mixtape they’ve heard. No other details are known but Twista - who’s reputation in the rap game was given by collaborations with the R&B/Pop Mariah Carey, hip-hop superstars Jay-Z, Kanye West and others - revealed that he will have collaborations with Monica, hip-hop mogul Diddy and Pharrell.

I was putting together a mixtape, but the label heard the music and said, ‘No we have to have an album.’ So now it’s gonna be an album. We do it way big in the studio.

Tupac father to release album honoring his son

According to the news, Tupac’s father Dr. Mutulu Shakur wants to release a album entitled A 2Pac Tribute: Dare 2 Struggle to commemorate the 35th birthday of his son, hip-hop icon Tupac. The ‘2Pac Tribute: Dare 2 Struggle’ album will be released on June 16 by KENT Entertainment’s rap imprint FIRST KUT.

The CD will feature among other, appearances of incarcerated rappers rhyming alongside Outlawz, and hip-hop icon Tupac’s siblings Nzingha and Mopreme and also a preview chapter of N 2 Da Gutter, Dr. Shakur’s unreleased historical fiction novel about Tupac.

Half of the proceeds from album sales will benefit inner-city health and education initiatives started by Dr. Shakur, who is currently imprisoned.

Apple recruiting game developers for MAC OS X and iPod

According to GameSpot, Apple is looking for C/C++ programmers that have previously worked as game developers. This move comes right after the transition from PowerPC to Intel, which made the Mac even more powerful, allowing it to run better games.

The developers are supposed to work on better OpenGL support in MAC OS X so the new hardware to be better optimized for gaming. Recently Apple hired programmers to work on a game engine for with ARM7 RISC processor, which is found in the iPod. With this Apple is trying to make the iPod more than a music and video player.

Hip-Hop Celebrity 50 Cent and Green Day, ASCAP Awards Winners

According to the news, ASCAP Awards honors hip-hop celebrity 50 Cent, rock band Green Day, singer-songwriter Annie Lennox and EMI Music Publishing. American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ceremony presented its top Pop Music Awards, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and was hosted by ASCAP’s president and chairwoman, Marilyn Bergman.

Following the winners list, Songwriter of the Year Award was for hip-hop celebrity 50 Cent for his contributions to five award-winning songs in 2005.

For Song of the Year Award went to Green Day’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and with “We Belong Together,” written by Johnta Austin, Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal. The rock band Green Day also earned the ASCAP Creative Voice Award.

For her inspirational contributions to music, Annie Lennox took the ASCAP Founders Award, while EMI Music Publishing was named Publisher of the Year for its 17 award-winning songs.

Mandy Moore album ready, record label says No

Someone is got a problem, singer/actress Mandy Moore reveals her new album may never be released because her record company doesn’t enjoy her new sound. This situation is a result of the fact that Mandy Moore is frustrated because she couldn’t move past her teen image. The singer who now wants the imagine of a woman says that despite having an entire album written and ready to record, the project has been canceled by her unimpressed record label.

I don’t know. It’s depressing. Maybe it (the record) will come out this year? Maybe next? I think my label is expecting a poppier, mainstream-type thing from me. If you’re lucky, people are able to go beyond your image. Justin Timberlake is an example. He’s creating something that’s his own. But I’m not really a celebrity like he is.
