Christina Aguilera

The pop celebrity Christina Aguilera gives details about her upcoming album which is set to be release in June. The new pop album named ‘Back to Basics’ will have soul, jazz, blues (from the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s) influences. The singer collaborated with Gang Starr principal DJ Premier who produced five songs for her new ‘Back to basics’ pop album.

Christina Aguilera declared that her collaboration with DJ Premier was something new for both of them and continues her legacy of taking creative chances with her music. ‘Ain’t No Other Man’, a song produced by DJ Premier and Charles Roane, clocks in at 127 beats per minute giving some energetic horn blares. ‘Thank You’, a song dedicated for pop singer’s fans, was also produced by DJ Premier and it is a combination of Christina Aguilera’s first single ‘Genie in a bottle’ and voice-mail messages from pop celebrity’s fans.

It had elements of Miles Davis and Billie Holiday and little horn pieces. The way he (DJ Premier) combined that, I was like, ‘Hm. I bet he would get where I’m trying to go with this record.’ It was taking a chance.
